432 deaths in custody since the royal commission from the early 1990 era an most of the recommendations have not been implemented . what i haven't seen is a breakdown of how the deaths occurred were they suicides ,bashing's, neglect police/ prison officers implicated or not.
DEATHS IN CUSTODY
In 1991, the Royal Commission into Aboriginal Deaths in Custody investigated the deaths of 99 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people that occurred in police or prison custody between January 1980 and May 1989. One of the outcomes was the establishment of a National Deaths in Custody Monitoring and Research Program at the Australian Institute of Criminology.
During 2008, 86 people died in all forms of custody in Australia, an increase of 12 deaths from 2007 (table 13.31). Of the 2008 total, 13 (15%) were Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. The largest number of deaths in custody recorded since 1990 was in 1997 (105), while the largest number of deaths of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people was in 1995 (22).

In a Statistical Report looking at prison deaths between 2015 and 2016, the AIC reported that death rates of Indigenous prisoners "[had] been consistently lower than death rates of non-Indigenous prisoners since 200304". The death rate in 20152016 was 0.18 and 0.23 per 100 respectively,[13] and in 2016-2017, 0.14 and 0.18 per 100 respectively.[14]
A 2019 AIC Statistical Bulletin, looking at 25 years of data since the Royal Commission (i.e. 1991 to 2016), found that, looking specifically at prison custody (as opposed to police custody) that "Indigenous people are now less likely than non-Indigenous people to die in prison custody" including a decrease in the rate of hanging deaths. It was not possible to calculate rates of death in police custody due to lack of reliable data, but there was no clear trend over the reference period based on raw numbers. The largest number occurred in 200203 and 200405, and the lowest in 201314. As to the manner of death, 47 percent (68) of Indigenous deaths in police custody were classified as accidental (with 57 percent (39) of these during motor vehicle pursuits and 19 percent (13) during another type of pursuit. Natural causes accounted for 21 per cent (31), self-inflicted deaths 19 percent (28), "justifiable homicide" 7 percent (10) and "unlawful homicide" 5 percent (8).[9]
A total of 432 deaths in custody have been recorded since 1991.[15][16]

India now has the fourth highest number of COVID-19 cases in the world, trailing only the US, Brazil and Russia, with more than 380,500 confirmed cases and more than 12,500 deaths.
It marks a rapid rise. At the start of June, there were fewer than 200,000 cases. A month before that, it was fewer than 38,000. Last Friday's tally of more than 13,500 was the biggest spike in cases in a single day.
"India is such a large country and prevalence is very low. India is not in community transmission," Balram Bhargava, director general of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), said last week.
"India has not declared community transmission simply because there isn't any," said economics professor Raghbendra Jha, head of the Australia South Asia Research Centre at ANU's Crawford School of Public Policy.

US President Donald Trump says he ordered authorities to slow down the rate of coronavirus testing because it was adding to the number of infections being recorded.
Man fronting court for coughing on officer A 30 year old man will face an Adelaide court today after allegedly coughing in the face of a police officer early this morning. He'd been pulled over at about 1:00am by a patrol, and was taken to the local police station after taking a roadside breath test. Senior Constable Peta Squire says he refused to take another test at the station. "He then allegedly coughed in the face of the officer and stated he might have coronavirus," she said. "[The] 30-year-old man from Clearview was arrested and he was charged with assault and refusing to comply with a breath test. "His mum's black Nissan Pulsar was impounded for 28 days and he received an immediate loss of licence for 12 months. "
I am sure that his mum will be looking forward to having no car, for a month
And also possibly, being his driver for the next twelve months
They keep coming, the few idiots, who will make it harder for the rest of us
South Australia is looking at jail time for border breaches Premier Steven Marshall says his government will introduce tougher laws to Parliament today for those caught breaching border restrictions. If passed, these laws will include a prison term of up to two years. It comes after three people from Victoria crossed the border illegally on Saturday via the Riverland, claiming one of them needed urgent treatment for their ankle after a motorbike accident. They were arrested the next day after they didn't show up to the hospital. The trio were fined up to $3,600 each in court yesterday. SA Police say they have since been escorted back to Victoria.
And another one
Pair arrested for illegally crossing the SA-Vic border SA Police have arrested two Victorian men for illegally entering the state. Just after 9:30 last night, a Victorian-registered SUV drove through a border checkpoint at Wolseley, allegedly hiding between two trucks. The SUV was found and the pair were arrested by police about 1:00am at Mount Barker. They'll face court later today
Don't these idiots understand that they risk alienating those people to whom black lives do matter, but for whom the well being of the community is paramount?
Another one reported , A woman from a 'lockdown part of Melbourne" fronted at the Wodonga Library, seeking a permit to travel into N S W. Result so far, Library was closed for deep cleaning for a couple of days. Havent heard if she has been fined or charged

She applied for, and received her pass to return to WA, and nominated her flight number etc
But as she was not happy, to do the hard yards of a fortnight quarantine, she went to (I assume) plan B
She hid in a car, on the back of a truck, and went from Vic, through VIC/SA, and SA/WA borders, to the outskirts of Perth WA
Later on when her nominated flight arrived in Perth, the quarantine people could not find her, so the police traced her through her phone, to a boyfriends unit
The pic says the rest, and I have scrubbed out her name

"India is such a large country and prevalence is very low. India is not in community transmission," Balram Bhargava, director general of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), said last week.
Community transmission is where COVID-19 has spread to a person who hasn't recently been overseas and who isn't a recent contact with a confirmed case, meaning the source of infection is unknown.
"India has not declared community transmission simply because there isn't any," said economics professor Raghbendra Jha, head of the Australia South Asia Research Centre at ANU's Crawford School of Public Policy.
