Thanks for that info Bru - very interesting and sets some things straight. If people did their homework before going to some places, they might enjoy them more - if you want to go to the Rock, check out pricing at the resort or campground, check out Curtin Springs, and a couple of other free camps along the way, one we stayed at was quite ok for a couple of days, and we drove into the Rock.
Have been to Kings Canyon, walked to the top and did the walk around - wonderful place. Also did the walk at the lower level, which was lovely. The Olgas are spectacular to walk through, loved it, spent the whole day there, and camped at the Yulara campground, which was nice, we had a view of the Rock from our camp, simply wonderful.

Thanks for that information Bru and when we come up next year I will get in touch. As far as the cost of Uluru have people not been to museums and other significent sights? the cost at Uluru is cheap have people stayed at Broome in W.A and what are the cost there.
I think it is a cheap option to see one of Australia's most famous rock and I'm only on a pension and mainly free camp but that is so we can do places like this when we want to.
