Yipes what a great thread. For me, I no longer give a toss, I'm happy with my morning coffee, breakfast and quick look at this forum and a few others.
The battle of mind on electrical stuff can be confusing, however some of the protagonists including me, have lofty points of view and a few have large axes to grind. If questions were a little clearer the answers may be congruent.

I agree with Fran, we are not in private school, and we are all learning, and have to start somewhere with some questions. If one does not like a post, one does not have to read it. I have also tried to use the search engine for posts that I have started and have not been able to find them. Still this could be because I am now a "senior" person and the brain is a little raddled, ( not sure if that is even a word). Oh dear I think it might be a slow Good Friday. Time to put the pearls and makeup on and go for a walk to clear the brain.

Warn all newcomers of the dangers of posting in the wrong place.
Ignore all postings that are misplaced.
Use a 3 strike system, then you're banned, which means someone or Cindy would have to keep records.
As long as there's new comers to the room, it'll happen again and again.
This subject has been flogged to death, so much so, no one is checking this same conversation was mentioned recently, and has been over the years.

You are more likely to get useful replies if you were to follow the convention and include the GPS or at least general location of Oonygalarby.
