I am aware of LR testing. Please describe how it changed your driving for the better. Because I can assure you that whatever it does, it does not improve the driving behavior of many if not most short haul truck drivers in SEQld. The trucks show battle scars too. In addition, the well known low level rail bridge underpasses snag them most days.
Whereas the GNs towing vans seem a benign lot, and well behaved.
Now what about you show how the LR licence will change the errant van or trailer towers being complained about here into the paragons of virtue all hope them to become?
What you and others are saying is that the drivers you are complaining about cannot drive, they are deficient in knowledge, and training and testing is the remedy. Whereas I am saying the problem is probably individual attitude. Can training change attitude? Probably not, and the only effective remedy is to remove the offenders from the road. At least we are safe when they are dismounted. If we are really serious we would be demanding automatic, on the spot suspension of licenses for a time for any infringement. OK, maybe relent and make that except for the most trivial offences. Offend frequently or seriously and kiss the licence goodbye.
It is too hard to lose a licence.

heaps of us have car license and at r shocking drivers at times
others have truck license shocking drivers at times
just watch taxi drivers shocking drivers
see the way semi drivers behave at times
same with b double +road train
all these license and still pranks speed tickets etc etc
im not sure wat the answer is

More Police on our roads would be a good starting point.
If I were one I could book a dozen drivers within 5 km of my place every hour without raising a sweat!

I have a cousin who is a cop...We call him the "lollypop cop" because he really does book them be the hundreds and thousands.
