Marj, it definitely gets better further south! No smoke or clouds in Canberra, or on the coast where we were this morning. Safe travels! We've been driving back and forth between our new home and this old one, and just love it on the coast. We have been busy personalising the new (to us) house, painting the kitchen while its still "empty", and sorting out stuff. This is the last trip back, our big furniture truck goes on Wednesday... Yay!!! Have to admit to being tired tonight.

very nice weather here in Griffith (NSW) was 31 deg yesty. will stop for a few days and explore this lovely city. Lots to see and do(drink) many wineries and lots of very fresh food. big italian influences in the food.
