Hooray!! Last night was the first time in nearly a month where I had no pain at all and got a good nights sleep. I had upped my fish oil to 6 a day instead of two, took an extra Glucosamine at tea time, and made sure I took my Panadol Osteo on time during the day, also went for a walk. Oh heaven to have no pain.

Oh that's great Marj!
I'd been told about taking the extra fish oil tablets, which I've done. Now my hip is fixed, my only pain is my regular lower back pain...from herniated discs..if I'm standing too long, and the Rhuematoid Athritis in my finger.
I did take Panadol Osteo when my hip was bad, but not keen on taking it all the time. I've got too many other drugs to take, so I figure I'll only use that when I'm in extreme pain.

It sounds like we are all aches and pains! Glad some are getting good relief. I just want to stop coughing. This is my third bout. Love those grandkids but.....

Oh yes, that would be nice too. Touch wood, I haven't had and lurgies or anything. Post nasal drip causes me to cough.

I know it's a bit late to reply but sciatica will go away after about 3 months. You must not sit at all and this is most important. Walking and lying. Take whatever you find helps the pain be it hot or cold packs, magnetic pillow or medication. Nerves have a very poor blood supply and that is why they take so long to settle. As above even though the pain is in the buttock it is still coming from your lower lumbar spine. My husband is just recovering slowly from his bout which happened when we were in Qld. The one good thing that came from this though is I am now confident in towing our van!!! Hope all you sufferers survive and recover soon.

Haven't had the sciatica back since I posted back on 22nd, so that would be right Gail. It started in May. Great for it to be all over, although I woke up feelibng like crap this morning, not sure why but won't be going too far today. Headache, crook stomach, too much chocolate last night I think.

Good on you Gail! There's no reason why women can't tow, or reverse for that matter

After 10 years, my husband has finally cured his sciatica. Firstly, he was told about the Nerve Block. Over the last few years he has had three blocks. First one worked for some months then the next couple were milder. We know a friend who had three attempts and years after all is ok. BUT not so lucky with husbands condition.
We were referred to a good neuro surgeon here in Perth who last week operated and now my husband doesn't have sciatica any more. It will take approx 3 months to fully recover but he is not in pain anymore (to think he suffered for 10 long years). If you decide to go this way make sure you have a good surgeon as many will tell you it is a major op and they don't want to do the job. Our doctor knows his job and would recommend him to you if you are interested.

Marj, my first wife used to sleep on an ice pack when the pain was bad as it reduces the inflammation causing the disc pressure on the nerves. Once those muscles tighten up theres no relief until they relax & ice (according to a number of chiro's & doctors over more than twenty years prior to her death) was far & away the best home remedy to achieve it.
