Getting up early to enjoy the first light and birds of the day is nothing to do with hitting the road. Sitting quietly enjoying a hot cuppa as the day breaks is a great way to start any day. When I'm ready to move on I often hitch up the night before, have a relaxed evening and good sleep, the mosey on along anytime between 9am and 10am. There are some campers who don't make their neighbours happy - like it's their God-given right to make all the squeaks, squeals, screeches and bumps they like in the course of setting up camp and packing up camp. Van leg winders are the bane of my life. I grease mine up to avoid as much irritation as possible. Those roof top aircons are very noisy, but the split systems are much quieter.
