Evening all, on our way from Townsville to Mackay today, the dearest was $1.53/lt at Inkerman with the majority on the way down around $1.49/lt.
Got'ta tell you, it is still raining like mad here in Mackay and the van.... she is a rockin' with the wind (no it is nothing more than that thank you, and there is a strong wind warning from Bowen to Gladstone for tonight)

What happens when our trade relations with overseas corporations fall to bits?

Pejay wrote:What makes us wonder is, with the 'fuss' in the Middle East, and the cost of crude rising, why does our fuel go up today, when what we put into our tanks today was paid for by the fuel companies weeks/months ago, and the fuel they purchase today will not be in the servo's tanks for weeks/months by the time it is loaded/shipped/refined and then transported around the country.
With the lessening demand for oil due to the Japan earthquake oil has dropped in price by more than $3 a barrel. Lets see how long it takes fuel prices to come down.

The prices are going up just like the amount of threads. Why do we have 3 current threads of fuel prices when 1 would do??
Can't expect the Govt. to control the prices if we can't even control ourselves.
Now this is a joke people before I get blasted. I would put up an emoticon if I could work out what they all stood for.

Diesel at Batlow NSW was 155.9c .... I filled up at Wagga at the Safeway/Caltex which was 142.9c for diesel .... but I paid 138.9c due to my 4c voucher. Other servos in Wagga were between 152.9c and 153.9c .... even the vanilla Caltex.
I am now in Tumut ... diesel is now 153.9c .....
All of those prices are as of today.

well I remember a few years back July 2008 and I was paying $2.30 lt diesl , we did expect it and for the months leading up in 2008 there was a lot of talk about the price being so high all over.
But no matter how much it costs us we still travel just have a few less Larte when we go through town.
In the great skeme of it all our travels were not affected by fuel price we still do it and enjoy ourself

The think about Nullarbor prices is you fill up at the highest price only once, not every stop.

Hey Guys N Gals. Was chatting to the Shell and Scott Petroleum reps at the South East Field Days in Lucindale SA on Friday..Asked this exact question...
Their responce was that because the governm, ent has mandated less than 10% suphur the refineries had to refit to produce Dieso as a seperate process istead of being a straight by-product like it used to be.
Also the government excise has more than tripled over the past few years because everyone is switching to dieso instead of petrol and the government needs to maintain its income stream from the most used fuel....
Just watch as the uptake opf LPG and LNG rises, the excise will rise too.
That is what the Shell and Scott Petroleum reps said and they aren't too impressed by the costs either.
Paid 153.9 for dieso here in Millicent on Friday seems to be average, and woolies wont touch it with a barge pole, they have small tanks and get the get tanks filled too often stiring the scum in the bottom up constantly without chance to settle properly giving constantly bad fuel, that came from a Woolies/Clatex rep I know....
