She'd be a bit old and slow these days.
I hate to shatter the illusion boys and girls, but the Nullarbor Nymph was a myth west of Nundroo.
It did activate the imagination of everyone who travelled the Nullarbor, but it was a prank of the local Ceduna youth in the early 70's.
Colleen, just keep your eyes and ears open and you wits about you and you'll be fine. I park up at the roadhouses along the way. Most of them have cabins for overnighters, but there are numerous free camps off the road, mostly on the Bight (coast) side.
The truck drivers use UHF Channel 40, and if you want to chat you go to 18 so you keep the airways clear for more important stuff. Be careful what you say as there are some who listen but you wouldn't know.
Common sense and caution are your best friend anywhere you travel.
It's a pity you can't call in to Pt. Lincoln for the Tunarama Festival.
You're never alone on the Nullarbor. Safe and happy travels.

That sounds like fun that festaival in Pt Lincoln..
Have a great journey and lifestyle change.. I started travelling around since Oct 09 and it has been the best decision i have made in a long time so i understand now why so many people do it permanently or for long periods..

Hi folks ..
just a little update on my wanderings . . and it was great to meet up with Colleen .. and Ricki .. I've now been at the CREDO Homestead staying with friends for the past week .. Alan and Sharron are the resident caretakers and have been so for the past 18 months .. After 4 days of 45C , its now been a very pleasant 28 to 30C for the last few days. Yep .. lotsa wind though .. flies .. and black ants .. but I came all this way to enjoy it .. !! I will be here for at least another (2) weeks .. by then I should know which way I'm heading .. still a little soon to head very far north .. radioComms has been quite good .. I've managed to stay in touch, almost each day, with the East Coast as well as most points across the Nullabour ..
happy travels all
Jon (approx. 70 k's north of Coolgardie, WA)
