Twelve days, i don't know if I can last that long. What about you Mr Duck, Ibbo, Dave, can you keep up the festering, sorry festivities for twelve whole days? I think I will need my Berocca twice a day.

Those "Pagan" Brits, Picts, Vikings, Danes, Saxons, Angles, Jutes, and Northmen and Woman, must have known how to PARTY BIG TIME.

Indeed.
They learned how from Welsh rugby teams.

Was that Dennis "Pagan" from North Melbourne and later Carlton fame?

I think they were all British/Celts them there days, and Rugby was a later English Town (and School)

yep sure can Terro, I love every minute of it, i love the way the kids are all hyper and hang on every word, the little faces looking up and asking me, of all people, "have I been naughty or nice"
hmmm!! now let me think, theres gotta be some middle ground there somewhere, just a little discretionary misguidence in amongst the good things surely! wouldnt hurt
our house is overflowing with laughter, women all over the joint, carrying on like pork chops cooking up a storm, folks coming in from every state, it looks like a c/park at our joint
kids running and crawling everywhere,
shame I gotta leave it all again this evening and climb the stairway to the glass castle
dont care if it's pagan or whatever, I just love the gathering of the clan! bring it on, I am dreading the new year break up!

Apart from my staunch belief that Xmas is a time to be ripped off by everyone from retailers to parking police I'd still like to wish you all the best for the Festive Season, and aHappy Joyous and Prosperous New Year!

Thanks for that Basil. Yes I'm taking your felicitations personally as I know you meant them to be. I hope every other member of the forum sees it that way. Probably only if they have their alfoil helmets on, though. As you are the titular leader of the sect, I would like to add, may the festive season bring all the warmth and happiness you desire and that the in coming year be extremely kind to you in every way. How about that? Sickening isn't it. The best part is though, I mean it.

There is something subliminal in that stereotypical scene.
Not sure what it is but references to a dry, holey Christmas puts me in mind of:
a. the Salvation Army or
b. a time when there's no water to put in the Scotch.
( I was going to write "...no water to wash in..." , then I realised that I'd got my priorities all wrong.)

Gary I tried to upload a GIF file the other day but was not accepted. I think that they may have to be converted to a Jpeg. I'm sure someone here will know how to do it or why we can't.
