I think he may have been Casino born and as I under-stan it, he didn't cost a lot to raise.

Brian could be close and probably a better song writer than singer

Time for another clue??????? - maybe not quite so cryptic - Brian what I got from you last clue was - Stan Penny - never heard of the name - but as a budding cryptic crossword doer(????) that was my deduction.
Can we ask questions for a yes or no answer?
If so - Australian??

He wears a wobbly boot. Ok he lives in a little tin humpy by the muddy old Barcoo river. worked at the homestead of his dreams, he used to drink at the Three rivers hotel in Greenvale. Likes to camp by a fire of gidgee coal.
Actually Raine didn't like bush ballads until we started to travel and we visited all the places this bloke wrote about and Slim Dusty sang about......... by the way I am a country music tragic
That enough hints

I didn't put this guy up Jules, but I actually gave you both his first and last names, albeit just a little bit cryptically. You may have to think a little more laterally.
NeilandRaine may be happy to give you more clues.
Aha he has already given you plenty more to go on.

Don't know many country singers or songwriters - only Slim Dusty, Smoky Dawson and a few modern ones - John Williamson, Kasey Chambers etc.

Must say Brian is being very good about this, he has known all along who it is but has let it go for a bit.
This bloke called his songs Story Songs, what bush Ballads are. I reckon anyone who travels the long paddock would appreciate some of these songs.
maybe if you You Tube Three Rivers Hotel...................... but you have to listen to some of his songs, and I did say he is a better song writer than singer

Not being good about it really Neil, I just don't want to pick the next one.
Seriously though, I would love some others to get involved. It's amazing what you learn along the way.

Having lived in Grafton for 20 years have heard his songs quite a bit...........hubby is a big fan, knew it quite early but did not have a photo to post, so I went looking and found this one, he was a favourite of mine when growing up, pretty easy I think. Hope it works without the name coming up.
Gday...

No, the name didn't come up Pauline, but it's still Audie Murphy...
No. This guy is English and now lives in Switzerland..
Another one I've never seen, and probably never heard of. Not that that means much. Will be interesting to see who it is.
Cheers,
Sheba.
Gday...
I am certain I know the face ... I hesitate to suggest he plays a character in an ABC TV drama ?
But damned if I can put sufficient data about him together in my mind to even get Google to help me
Cheers - John
The photo is very deceiving. Go for it Happy Wanderer....
Seeing as no one else has jumped in - I will submit this one
Sid Haylon? Maybe not spelt correct?
