Not sure what you are getting at. The vaccine is not fully effective until some time after the second dose. After the first dose, there would be some protection but it takes time to build.
Even if he had been fully vaccinated, there is no guarantee he would have survived. The vaccination does a good job of preventing you from catching it, a better job of keeping you out of hospital, and then an even better job of keeping you alive. But, it's not a guarantee. Like a seatbelt in a car, or a helmet on a bike rider, it just helps your outcome, but by a far greater factor.

This question has been answered thousands of times. You should know the answer.
You are far more likely to die in a motor vehicle accident that having the vaccination, yet people jump in their cars and driver every day without a thought about their safety

Settle back Trevor! Way too much commonsense and logic involved in that sentence, which echoes what I posted a week or so ago.Unfortunately, social media provides enough rubbish to scare the living spit out of many sheeple, who seem unable to think for themselves?Cheers

Great story that compares the pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines. Includes to great, easy to understand stat's.
Good to see recent data on comparing AZ with Pfizer, rather than the often quoted trial results. So there is negligible difference between them in their ability to save lives.
As for the risk of dying from blood clotting due to AZ, the ones I think most would identify with are 56 times greater risk that you will die in a car accident each year, or 32 times greater risk of being a victim of homicide. Those aren't statistics that keep me awake at night.

The USA approved Moderna's COVID vaccine in Dec 2020:
Australia''s GDP about $1.6 trillion/25 million people = $64,000 per capita.
Two Pfizer doses $60.00, but let's say $300.00 by the time you get it in arms.
Still cheap in the scheme of things.

Another untested vaccine (in Australia) Why?
We have got used to AZ & Pfizer and know their pitfalls.
It will be the cause of a new wave of hesitancy.
It may be different if we had a choice but they are still insisting on you get what you get.

It seems to be that the people who have had an early vaccination, they will be the ones who need a booster sooner.
There is some talk that it may be better to have a booster different to the original type of vaccine.
So it may be better in the long run that there are as may variations of vacancies.

These vaccines are currently being administered world wide.
As a matter of interest, in your opinion, how long should the Australian Medical experts wait before beginning to recommend the current brands to the Australian population for protection against the severity of the Covid pandemic?

Could you tell us of the proven pitfalls of the AC and Pfizer vaccines? Not interested in garbage sprouted on social media that confuses only the gullible, but proven pitfalls. As I and another poster have already pointed out, there is a 50 times greater chance of dying in a car accident than there is of dying from a Covid jab. And deaths from car accidents largely go unnoticed. Spare me! Cheers
P.S This car is in two halves after being wrapped around a powerpole, killing 5 of the 6 occupants. As fate would have it,the survivor was the driver.

Yobarr, Just looking to picking a fight? Pretty nasty.
Answer: Why of course, blood clots and heart problems they are the pitfalls. IDIOT.
Your reference to vehicle accidents has no relevance to the vaccines and I am sick of it being trotted out. One example would be, you know and can control (in a lot of cases) the dangers of being on the road. With the vaccines you don't know (for sure) all the side effects and cannot control any of them. Except the one decision to have or not to have.
FYI: I am one of the haves.
Anyway, that was not what I was discussing.
You have called a lot of people idiots on this forum and I for one do not like it. Nasty, Nasty person.

Another untested vaccine? Where in the world do you get this rubbish.
In the UK, blood clots have occurred in people taking the AstraZeneca vaccine at a rate of roughly one in every 250,000, whereas blood clots caused by the pill are estimated to affect one in every 1,000 women each year.

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-08-03/covid-delta-danger-sees-experts-prepare-for-hospital-surge/100334558
NSW ICU data:
54 cases in ICU
7 in their 20s, 6 in their 30s, 2 in their 40s,
16 are in their 50s, 14 in their 60s and 9 are in their 70s
Of the 54 people in ICU:
48 not vaccinated
6 people received their first dose (AstraZeneca or Pfizer)
0 fully vaccinated
Wot? An inconvenient truth. The anti mob are clutching at straws now. Getting harder and harder to find a face saver now.
6.1 ML doses of AZ and 5 deaths I think.

I have been following the Covid-19 news, and if I remember correctly
The following snip, from a news article, is the first time I had read this information
Perhaps they should have said this, from day 1, or perhaps this info has only just come to light
