We're not being told the reason he gained an exemption because it's "private health information". However given he's one of the top tennis players on the planet his health and fitness must be as close to 100% as it's possible for a human to achieve and I find it unbelievable that he has some significant medical condition which precludes him from receiving the C19 vaccine but allows him to play tennis at the highest level.
As is so often the case: One rule for some and a different rule for others.

I tend to agree, but he has had Covid, so would have developed antibodies, so that may be why he does not need the shots?
Bad policy to judge without all the facts.

Agreed, it certainly shows money talks (ticket sales)
If I remember correctly, this prick ignored the rules and held a large party at the beginning of the covid scare and many people were infected, he later apologized somewhat half heartedly. Throw him out.

Having Covid in Victoria only give a 6 month exemption, so he is way past that for an excuse.

if they didn't want us to be judging him without the facts maybe they should supply a few facts. how does he even get into the country without being vaxed ?

I heard on the news earlier that an 18 year old player from India applied to come out but was declined. Being 18 in India he can't get the vax. There's that one rule for one and one for another.

I agree with you Mike. Djokovic must be one of the fittest and healthiest men on the planet and this exemption is an abolute disgrace. It is an insult to our intelligence. We are avid tennis fans and have been going to the Australian Open regularly for the last 25 years, we missed last year as a precaution against covid but are going this year. We, along with all the other attendees have fulfilled all the requirements to attend. It sticks in one's craw that a wealthy, super fit, healthy player can be granted a medical exemption by an 'independent medical tribunal' to allow him to play. I think that if we get to see him play we may take an extended coffee break instead. I wouldn't boo him but there is no way I could applaude him.

If I recall correctly, a few weeks ago, Australia Tennis did say, all players must be vaccinated, or words to that effect

I suspect the crowd will boo him but it would be most interesting to see the result of a totally silent crown: eg. Djokovic brilliantly saves a set point and the result is utter silence. I rather think that would rattle him.

He's number 1, a big draw card and brings in $millions. That outdoes any world pandemic and a half arse weak government statements on what will happen, until the event comes up.

Dictator Dan is on record saying that there would never be exemptions for anyone coming to Australia. Just replayed on Fox News.
But who would believe anything that man ever said.
Remember the security guards fiasco - still kept from the public. Bet the rellos of the 800 people dead are looking on in disdain.

He is not here yet.
The Government has said he will definitely get no speciat treatment and if his exemption does not stack up to Austrralian rules he will be on the next plane home.
If it is acceptable according to OUR rules, he will be allowed in. Same as anyone else.

I reckon he thinks he's on a sure thing to come all this way and won't be sent home. I will be mighty surprised if he is sent packing not matter what was said before. Remember we are now living with covid. I could be wrong, lets wait and see. Personally I'd like to see the beeep come here just to get sent straight back.

His visa has been cancelled by ABF for not meeting the necessary entry requirements....perhaps he is not vaccinated!
If that is the case the Vic Govt and Tennis Australia will finish up with egg on their faces and a lot of explaining to do!

It seems that his reasons for a Medical Exemption didn't pass the BS test, Visa cancelled, but as we know any ordinary human would be bundled off on the next flight but Djokovic will get a Court hearing if he applies for one.
