I haven't posted till now on my health problem so will start today and add to it as I have strength.
Just over a month ago I arrived in Hervey Bay at my son Stephens place.
I hadn't been well all summer but plodded along. From the time I arrived in HB and for the next two weeks, I was so ill I rarely got of bed. Staying in there spare room, thank goodness.
Until I got Jaz to call an ambulance and I ended up in HB Hospital for the next 10 days before being transferred to RBW Hosp by flying doctors.
I have been here for nearly a week.
Up until now only family and a few close friends have been told until I had more info on the problem.
It seems so far after numerous ct scans. Ultrasounds. Biopsyies by endoscope. I have a large mass in my abdomen that is pushing my small bowel into a very narrow tube. Far too small to be of much use.
Waiting for biopsy results tomorrow then there are several posibilities. The first could be keyhole for a better look and bigger samples. Right through to cancer which will need to treated before removal.
I will update as I get more info but at least we are getting to the bottom of a stomach problem that has been there for years laying me up for weeks at a times and happening often. As some would know from my stomach ailments every year at Greens.

Gday...
Never good to hear of health issues - but hopefully the range of tests can/will find the actual problem - and allow for diagnosis back to good health quickly.
Cheers - John

Well Marg, Sorry to hear the bad news. I am no sure if you know but I was also diagnosed with colon cancer recently & had an operation in Hervey bay hospital on 10/3. It was supposed to be key hole but it became necessary to open me up. (Ended up 6 hours on the table) What I want to tell you is that the surgical team at Hervey Bay hospital is one of the best. They did such a great job & the care in the surgical ward was also excellent. I spent a week there. Today I had an appointment at the oncology Dept & will be having chemo for the next 6 mths. Oh I have just read your last message & realise you will be having your op in Bris. My best wishes go out to you. Keep positive & hopefully all will go well & you will be back to your usual cheerful state soon. I'll be cheering for you Alice

Hi Alice. Yes I was following your posts. You got out a couple of days before I was admitted.
Because of your story I wasnt worried about anything done in HB. They sent me to Brisbane because they weren't equipped to take biopsies by endoscope
They decided to do Thursdays op down here in Brisbane and send me back up after.

Thank Jules and Billy for your kind words.
Yes the positive out of all this is hopefully finding the reason behind nearly 10 years of stomach troubles.
Definitely a connection. One way of looking forward to tomorrow's operation.
