Im an Eagles supporter, but they've been well thrashed today by the Hawks.
The Hawks have bigger players, more experience and play better as a team, but the Eagles should be proud to have made the Final and hold their heads up high as they played well none the less
Congratulations to the Hawks - next year though, watch out - both the Eagles and the Dockers (who will sort out the problems they've had over the past month or so) will be up there at the Top

Well, What can I say, The Eagles were really plucked today, I won't say they tried their best because they never did,
From the first quarter I could see the writing on the wall, I've never seen bad handling of the ball like I saw today, a flaming disgrace,
When they start learning that one is supposed to catch, hold the ball and pass it to someone on your side of the team, they may have a chance at winning.
Hawthorn out classed the Eagles by a Country Mile, they deserved to win. I'll have to do some very hard thinking, before I buy any more flags in the future.

Nah! An Indian Chief's worst ememy for me mate.
All the way for the Cowboys.
I had a double chance of a team getting in the Grandy this year. I follow Storm but have got to like the Cowboys due to my long stints in Townsville during the footy season.
I will lock my worriors up for the day tomorrow.

A most un-Eagle like performance. But well done to the Hawks. Have to pass comment tho on the Eagles poor luck with the bouncing ball. It always seemed to bounce away from them or over their heads whilst it bounced into the Hawks hands when it was close to them. No excuse for kicking to the opposition or dropping marks tho. Perhaps it was just GF nerves and they will do better next year for the experience

It must be difficult for the Hawks to understand but, they didn't win today, the Wonderful West Coast Eagles gave it to them. Also there is no shame in being the second best team of the year.

Sorry Young Simmo,
The Hawks did win it. They played football that didn't allow West Coast to get into the game. The West coast gave nothing to them.

No offence taken Simmo. I don't support the Hawks.
The point I make is that the effort of the Hawks shouldn't be diminished by saying that the Eagles lost it, the Hawks didn't win it. That is not the case.
Unfortunately, 2 weeks ago counts for nothing. Ask Fremantle, who had 10 of 12 weeks as the top side. Doesn't count for a cracker!
What I see here from some folk is a little like saying that as the team I support beat the Hawks twice this year, which they did, my team are the best in the competition. Simply not so. We didn't get to the Grand final, and we didn't win it.
My point is that rather than look for excuses why our team didn't win, why can't people should simply acknowledge that the opposition are a better team on the day.
