I used to be on between 3-4 hours Dazren. It was coming good again after a previous Meltdown. Now with so many good contributors gone after the last ruckus, it's gone "off" again.
Very disappointing.
Don't think I've been on for even 45 minutes at a time for weeks now, thanks to a few idiots.
Cheers,
Sheba.

Yes, the same here .... I used to love coming on here and spending a few hours updating on all the things happening with everyone. Getting a lot of very helpful hints and so on.
But now, it doesn't matter if I miss a few days, cause it only takes about a half hour and it's all over. I too am a lot disappointed of late, but hopefully with new members joining ( new blood) things will be on the improve. I still love this site, I think it is the BEST !! As I have met a lot of great GNs and will continue to meet more as I go on my travels. Cheers all...keep smiling....Sarg.

I think it was some [new blood, and a very few,] that caused this latest meltdown sarg.
I'm just disgusted that they were allowed to disrupt things here to the extent they did, especially since so many older members were objecting to them being able to dictate the way the site was run.
The majority of us had no objections at all to any of the Avatars that were in use at the time.
Cheers,
Sheba.

What a pity wombat hasn't come back. He was such fun and a tower of information, also giving us all a good laugh with his altered photos.
He was one who made the forum turn.
It certainly is a lot quieter now. A bit like Bold and the Beautiful. Only need to go on once in a while to keep up to date.

Wombat has been on a few times but we are all happy "over there" where we can play with our avatar Giffs. We also have some interesting discussions without anybody getting upset. I come back here occasionally to check on old friends, specially those that are sick. Would'nt happy hour be boring if we all agreed. Seems a lot of newbies should think twice before posting, specially where they post questions IMHO.

It's the nature of forums, people come, people go, some make you laugh, others make you cry, some play well with others some don't and are simply mischief makers, we cant change the status quo.
Nothing stays the same, things and people change, you can live in the past and wish for what used to be, or you can make the most of the moment and enjoy things for what they are.

Port in SA during the summer months is touch on the heavy side and of course camp fires are out of the question.

Not sure, seems I'm a member! what I am sure of is that it's probably not complimentary.
It's a strange state of affairs on this forum, a member starts a thread lamenting the loss of older members who have moved on because of poor behavior by others, then within a few posts the thread turns into exactly what is being complained about, with back handed compliments and digs at others starting to appear.
Good job I don't take umbrage/offence easily.

Jay Jay, it all depends on your interpretation of ' meaningless rubbish ' !! You have been a member of this forum for a long time, so you must realise that a lot of the valued members that have left, not only took part in what you describe as meaningless rubbish, but they were also the same people that answered your Quality questions, because they also had a wealth of knowledge and experience, in a wide and varied range of subjects, relating to Caravanning, Camping, Travelling, Motor vehicles, computers, etc, etc, These people did what is required to make a forum, stand out above the rest of the forums, They taught and Assisted others, They created a sense of comraderie, they built a basis for friendships to be formed, AND they also participated in your opinion of ' Meaningless Rubbish '
If what you seek, is just answers to your questions, There are many, many, many Caravan and travelling forums out there to get your answers,
What Made this forum, '' THE PLACE TO BE '' was It's appeal of being like a Great Big Long Happy Hour, ''on line'' !! where people could Meet, Chat, get questions answered, or answer questions, put forward idea's and suggestions and also indulge in that great australian pastime of swapping Bulls--t, or as you prefer to say '' ''Meaningless Rubbish'' -- There is still a few on this forum that would agree with you,!
