I thought I'd do a little more than poke my head in today. Now that I have a little more time on my hands while I recuperate from the Radiotherapy. The last 'fry' was done on Wednesday the 25th, my 60th birthday. So I had a double celebration. I also had two birthday parties. One with a bunch of girlfriends on the day, and one today with extended family. Lot
I've remained positive throughout, with a lot of encouragement from friends and family, and intend getting out and about as soon as I get the go ahead from the doctors.
As you can see, the plastic surgeon did a great job.
Beth you look great, Granted he has done a great Job, and I can see that you HAVE remained positive, The Grin on your face says it all, You look happy and confident ,Brave move putting your photo's up NOT many would dare, Me included,, And the Grin/Smirk you have in those photo's show you are comfortable and confident. with the outcome of what would have been a very scary experience indeed,, So very happy for you, and I hope your health quicly improves in leaps and bounds,so that you are can back out on the road asap,, You go Girl, Bless You and Good Luck.

Here's an even bigger grin, when I walked out of the treatment room with my mask. I got to bring it home, but heaven knows what I'm going to do with it.
I'll post another one when I'm allowed to wear makeup again.
Thank you so much shekon and peterpan. I consider myself very fortunate to have great friends and family supporting me.
And I really had it easy compared to some other patients I saw in the Oncology Department. Poor souls.

Great going Beth, you do look so well. He did a fantastic job on your nose, the scars are hardly noticeable in the 3rd photo.
You could always use the mask as a strainer or maybe a pot plant holder. lol

Yes, in 2 or 3 weeks the redness should be gone and hopefully the inside of my nostrils will feel normal again.
Someone else suggested a pot plant holder. Another was to spray it gold and hang it on the wall. The tech guy said it can be melted down again in 70 degree hot water, and reformed into any shape I want. hmmm...

Thank you GD, Jules, and dazren, thanks for the confidence boost.
The good old fly veil hey dazren. Hmmm, something to think about.
By the way, the dressing on my nose is not really dressing, just a little padding for under my glasses. I'm looking forward to doing away with that soon.

I love the idea of painting the mask gold and hanging it on the wall. That's what I would do.

Good on you Beth - you look so positive - about that mask you could use it as a food cover but I think the fly veil is a good suggestion.

Thank you all. I'm considering all suggestions re the mask. It could be a little scary to small children if I used it as a fly veil.
Rocket, that sounds like a great idea. Maybe in a few weeks when I'm not so tired.

Re: the pics...Not so long ago I wouldn't have my photo taken without at least a little makeup. I hesitated about 'showing' my wound, but vanity has gone out the window for the time being.
Oh, and the moon face is because I've had to stay on Prednisone throughout this. I didn't need the other problem flaring again while I was going through this.
So in a couple of weeks I'll be right off Prednisone, hopefully the nasal congestion will be gone, and I'll be over the tiredness.
Now all I need is my new rig and I'll be all set!
