Tomorrow night ( Friday) there is going to be a story about Grey Nomads tripping around the country in their motorhomes. Just saw it advertised. This is in Vic. Not sure if all states get the same stories.

Today Tonight and Current Affair are on at different times here in Country Vic so will be able to watch both.
Maybe Current Affair will have it too, the amount of times I watch one then the other and both have the same items, its disturbing.

I watch Today Tonight and I think it's great that these two people are off on their adventures.
I did however feel that it didn't really paint a TRUE picture of the Grey Nomads. Not everyone has a motorhome or fifth wheeler and I just hope that it doesn't make those that are contemplating taking up this lifestyle think that they have to spend such large amounts of money to do so.
Just my opinion, for what it's worth

Im with you Ma, The old saying all show and no dough. .This life can be had on a shoes string bugget if you want.. Sure if you have the money go for it ,good for you .. You will have just as much fun as anyone eles.. I watched the show and if they think they can just pull up and camp where they want ..........big shock comeing. But its a learning curve at the best of times..
Bet the CP owners will be rubbing their hands together, makes me smile.....
Whats the old saying belive half of what you see and nothing you read or see in the media...just a thought....

I found it very disappointing. Not a true reflection of what the greynomads are about at all. There is a group here in Echuca called Recycled Teenagers. I joined a couple of years ago as they do bus trips, but only went the once. The the bus trips go to another town to a club where you play the pokies and have lunch.
You are not allowed to leave the club at all, so you see nothing of the town.

Thats good centurion, but just remember you don't have to spend 150,000 on a caravan or 5th wheeler to travel this wonderful country.
You can do it on a budget and still enjoy.

Much as I expected.... commercial television is all about product placement and plugs.
I've only done about four bus tours in my life, all one day tours, one was ok (Denali to Fairbanks in Alaska), one very good with an excellent tour guide (Rome to Naples/Capri/Sorento) and two with tour guides from Hell (Denali National Park, Alaska, and Fraser Is. Qld)

Well, I missed it !!! Our Local News Time was changed a while ago, and is on now at the same time as Today Tonight. Very frustrating, as I liked to watch both Current Affairs programmes.
Off Topic, my latest find at one of my local Op-shops, is a Remington Big Loaf Breadmaker. Model BM201. Haven't had time to try it yet. Does any-one know anything about them ?
As we've drifted off topic and original breadmaker post is now a bit stale (oh gawd, what an awful pun!) you could always start a new topic and get some input that way.
cheers,
Jim

I watched the program tonight, and found it was a bit of a let down, all advertising for THE BIG ONES. Not really telling us anything about the real life of real Grey Nomads.
A bit of a let down - more like a total waste of my "viewing time"
I gain far more knowledge about Grey Nomads by following this forum.

Thanks for that Jim. Have a smaller Breville, but the loaves are so small I don't use it any-more.

Oh Jim, your loaves are never stale. I missed out last time, but my tastebuds still remember.
Bugger! I missed the program and will probably miss it, but I'll check online.
If it's an advertorial for motorhomes or 5th wheelers it will miss the point completely.
Some of us are getting very happily in our budget rigs.
I consider I'm in comfort compared to many, but I didn't spend $100,000 to do it.
Stick to affordable within your budget to buy, run and maintain, and your will have the most enjoyable experience of your lives.

Hi all ..
.. hmmmm .. I watched the start of it .. saw how it was 'bundled' and decided to go lawn bowling instead .. .. thats what you get when you interview 'show-ponies' instead of a cross-section of the full range that we represent ..
Yes will be screened in Sydney tomorrow as well. Looking forward to watching it.

John
