Hello. As a solo I've done two trips up the east coast already, but now, I would prefer to join someone else who's set up for off road adventure. I would willingly share fuel & food coast. Am in the process of renting out my home & hope to travel there for a year or more. If you, or if you know of anyone who's also looking for company.. Please let me know. Thanks. Kate

Hi Kate. You mentioned your age group, then didn't say what it was.
Cheers, Sheba.

Do I need new glasses Sheba? I can't see any reference to age group. I don't think it matters all that much anyway as long as you hit it off together and enjoy the company.

I know a 55yo lady in Toowoomba who is looking for a travel companion setting off next March around Oz. She has Toyota Landcruiser & 5yr old caravan. Private message me & I will put you in touch. Sounds a nice person.

Hello again and thank you to those who have replied both through the forum & the PM's I've received.
However, it's become clear I have the need to state, that I "did not" post with any intention of it appearing that I was doing so with any intention that it "could or would" be misconstrued as an attempt to facilitate a search for relationship.
Thanks.

Hi Lilly. Ummm ( smile ) yes a bit sad really as I'd been thinking a person who replied & whom I had ended up spending a lot of time exchanging emails with (if your like me, typing emails take forever to cover the distance in written form after being used to talking on the phone ) "Had" replied because he "did" want a travel buddy... But sadly... Yes.. he only wanted to consider it if it were to lead to more. And in my naivety I didn't catch on to that till well into our emails. Thus my post & my having put my "big girls blouse on" & saying what I have.
Thanks for your hands up.

That's ok ladies.. I'll laugh with you as I know your not laughing "at me" .
Umm .. And I'd better say.. That the gentleman in question was not making "inappropriate" suggestions in what he had expectations of my "doing"... But was looking for a "relationship", ie. couple partnership... before his comfort zone could stretch to having someone travel with him... Which wasn't disclosed till many emails & many hours had been spent in typing the emails.
You ask why "this time" I want to travel with someone else.. Well 1st reason is when I drive long distances I get a sore back..
And 2nd is... That I have been very much a hermit & doing solo things since loosing my family in an accident... And, it's time I changed that before it becomes an unbreakable habit.
And, yes.. I think it's great that there are ladies on the road burning up rubber under there own power.. and I say.. "go girls" all power to you.
Who knows.. I may still end up being one of you yet !
Thank you all.

Hi Folks ..
.. that person that has been communicating with Coastalong is me. At no time have I given her any reason to make certain insinuations .. The best way to prove it , is for you Coastalong, to upload all the emails and let the viewers decide .. you have my permission to do so !

Coastalong, I am quite happy to travel along side you sometime next year, but my van will be only big enough for one. We all have to start somewhere and being alone on a long trip will be the same for all of us bad backs and all.
Jonathon, I won't comment as only know what I have read here.

Jon. Settle Petal. Me thinks you need to get on the road again as a means to cure your boredom. Re your suggestion, You get the consent of the forum moderator and go for it to your hearts content. Better let him know there are as many pages as there are though !

Hi Lilly,
We camped at Lake Nuga Nuga, about 2 hours south east of Springsure. It's a National Park with no facilities, but a beautiful spot for photography..sunsets over the water and amazing bird life. We spent a couple of days there. It's a dirt road in, so may be too boggy after all this rain we've had in Qld. Maybe check with RACQ before leaving Springsure.
No pub nearby though. haha

We singles are not all out here looking for a relationship beyond friendship.
Some of us are a bit too sensitive and take things a little too seriously and personally.
I'd like to have a travel pal from time to time, but in their own rig. It would be a special person to share my tug.
I have many good, close friends through travel, male and female, but I wouldn't necessarily want them in my tug and van, let alone bed.
There are some blokes out there, I'm not referring to anyone specific, but there are blokes out there who perceive any contact, and it can be just talking, with a woman, makes her a partner/lover.
Others wouldn't consider sharing their travels in their vehicle without being closer than friends, just because that's the way they are.
I have shared my bed with some friends, male and female, because it's the only place to sleep. It didn't make me their lover. And we're still friends.
Let's respect each others individuality and space, and lighten up.

I couldn't have said it better myself cruisin granny. I have heard personal stories that match what you are referring to.
Best to just be friends and don't jump to assumptions just because someone has been polite to you and shared a bit of your time. We can all travel the highway and bump into each other for a short time then move on when we feel like it. Thats the way it should be.

I'd like a travelling companion with associated perks. However, my child bride might complain. Hang on a minute, if I take her, problem solved. (All tongue in cheek, so no offence intended. I'll now retire into my own quiet corner.)

It's a shame some people have no sense of humour, and you have to explain it's a joke.

I think some of the comments made here would have been best left in PRIVATE Messages and dealt with in PRIVATE.
Airing a misunderstanding only served to embarrass and compromise the reputation of a fellow GN.
It's best to keep an open mind, and the sense of humour active at all times.

Also CG there is an edit button up to the right. Some posts could have had some of the content edited out by the poster rather than leave it there for more to come in and wonder.
Thanks.
Kate
