Hi , I've just joined up ...am readying an ex tradie van for a trip maybe to Tassie first in early Autumn. I wanted to share with you something I've found...I live in a shed so am already living a camping life but not on the road yet. Bunnings have a super big black heavy duty plastic storage bin which makes a fab deep bath . It doesnt come with a lid. External measurements are 880 long 635 wide 510 deep It weighs 8 kgs
Showers are great but sometimes you need a nice long soak with a beer or a glass of bubbles! Its a size which could have several smaller containers stacked in for travelling and that way takes so little space. Cost me under $60...can't remember...but its so worth it! : )Cheers, Happy Wanderings

Thanks for the welcome...I've read many posts already and your'e right. Lots of help and support put out...some very clever techies out there too. You can use the tub too...just hang yr legs over the end !! : )

Thanks Dave,....perhaps you'd prefer to think of it as a super beer cooler for th next party just doing occasional time as a bath. Itsalso great for putting washing in and stomping like grapes especially heavy stuff like jeans n overalls.....does it pass muster now? : )

Welcome Denise: I've been away for a while and just catching up on here. Oh what a great idea but where do you store it in van, and how do you fill it?? I agree, a soak every now and then would be a treat!! We have a 21 ft Jayco. Will be going to Bunnings this week so will check it out!!

Hi Colleen,I think i'll put it on the bed driving and outside when stopped, under the awning. It has two holes in the rim at each end so will tie it to steel shelves(its an ex sparkies van with lovelybuilt in shelves ) for travelling. I've been using a bucket and just got the tub...thats why its such a luxury. I only fill it about 10cm ,its plenty.

I personally could see HUGE benefits in carrying a bath. I just have difficulty grasping just how it could be done, not only the storage of the bath but carrying sufficient water to make it viable.
My liking of the idea is because I have some horrid skin issues which often can only be helped with a soak in a bath with some magic stuff I use in the water.
At home it is not unusual for me to have a bath every day or two as well as the usual daily shower.
I have so far been able to use a bucket and flannel as a poor substitute when we are traveling but it is a VERY poor substitute. I love stopping at the OzParks caravan park in Ceduna as they are the only park I know of to have a bath for patrons.

The OzParks Caravan park in Ceduna, the Ceduna Airport CP, good value for money, $20 a couple PN. for members $22 for non members.
Nothing flash but good clean amenities, would recommend it.

The tub is only 8 kgs so I'll just throw it on the bed(empty of course) and tie it to the shelf frame then maybe a couple of crates with stuff in them will fit inside. I assume you have a bed in yr van....can you do that?
Water is another thing. 1 bucket of hot from fire or shower is enuff for a cool bath on a hot day, 3-4 isgreat for cold weather then u just fill the rest with a hose to your temp.
Even if its a shallow bath its really relaxing ,you just sit in there and bale it over yourself . You could put showerbags in the sun or polypipe toheat the water too.

dont know if this would work, but what about a blow up pool, in the privacy of your annexe of course. Wouldnt take much water, but enough to soak your frilly bits if you assume different poitions.
