If we vote him out, who will we get instead?
It would be great to have an honest, loyal polly who remembers where he/she comes from, where they started and have some practical plans for the future of this country.

If I had his job you would never see me, I'd be swanning around the world @ Public expense 3. who is he working for ozz. or some other identity, He is working for his own ego and his own selfengrandisment as are 99% of all politicians and the other 1% are savvy enough to do what they think the electorate wants them to do to get re-elected 4. will you vote for him next time round, is this a trick Question? He won't be around for the next election...

Barak Obama and Kevin Rudd are shown a time machine which can see 100 years into the future.
The both decide to test it by asking a question each. Barak goes first.
"What will the USA be like in 100 years time"
The machine whirrs and beeps and goes into action and gives him a printout,
he reads it out "The country is in good hands under the new president,
crime is non-existant, there is no conflict, the economy is healthy. There
are no worries"
Kevin thinks "Its not bad this time machine, I'll have a bit of
that" so he asks "What will Australia be like in 100 years time?"
The machine whirrs and beeps and goes into action, and he gets a printout.
But he just stares at it.
"Come on Kevin" says Barak, "What does it say ? "
Kevin replies ...... ."I can't tell ! Its all in Arabic!"

Now that may be a self-fulfilling joke.
The country is battling to provide health, water, housing and power to the population here now, including the illegal assylum seekers. Then they bring in another few thousand to stretch resources even further, to the detriment of the population which has worked it's bum off and made this country what it was until about the year 1995.
Since then it's gone to crap.
Come on my fellow Nomads, let's protest and speak up on every forum we can. Someone has to hear us sooner rather than later.
Our values have been destroyed by self-serving, greedy politicians and executives who grant themselves huge wages and pay rises.
The would-be's need to be told how it really is down on the ground and in the streets, and in particular, how we feel about it. While it's still a free country, let's have a say.
It doesn't matter who hears it, but hear it they will.

Good grief!
Why all this picking on the politicians?
You elected them and allow them to do do what they do.
In any case, it's money interests and religious pressure groups who actually run the country, so perhaps you'd like to turn your venom towards a few of these miscreants occasionally.
Not that I support the lack of morality and ethics of the pollies, but at least you are able to openly criticise them.
I worry more about the clandestine and amoral behaviour of the worlds of commerce and religion whose activities are deemed to be beyond reproach, despite the overwhelming weight of evidence to the contrary.
Now we have political party leaders who espouse the tenets of superstition and mythology that masquerade as religion, as well as talking up economic activity as if it is some kind of magic cure for the ills of society.
Where is the "sapiens" that supposedly distinguishes "homo" from the lesser animals?
Not much in evidence on a day to day basis.

At the time I thought it was better the devil we knew, than the one we didn't.
We've gone down hill at a rapid rate in 3 years, give or take a GFC.
Aust has survived better than other countries, but how, when and where?
Can someone fill in the gaps for me please?

I take it your in my age bracket so I would dare you to name an "Honest Loyal Polly" ( could the terms Honest and Loyal in the political context be regarded as an original oxymoron) that served since we where old enough to vote . They may start off with that in mind but the party machine will soon erase that notion or they will not be there for a second term . We just have to settle for monitoring the greed factor after their elected

Whinge and complain about politicians all you like, the truth is nothing will change. It starts to get a little boring with politcal prattle taking up more space on the Forum. Before anyone starts on about free speech consider the majority of people who would just like to get on with life and not be bothered bya continual barrage of political bagging. If I have offended anyone, sorry. But that is how I feel.Cheers.Ibbo.

If there's one thing worse than a politician telling lies it's a politician telling the truth......
Malcolm Frazer is still being pilloried after three decades for saying "Life wasn't meant to be easy" and "There's no such thing as a free lunch"
The nanny-state mob didn't like the first one and the socialists didn't like the second one.
An "honest politician" is an oxymoron..... To get elected a politician has to tell the electorate what it wants to hear, not the truth if it doesn't want to hear the truth (which is most of the time)

I gotta agree with the duck and Ibbo here! as well as the unspoken ones
if we arent willing to go proactive and actively contact and work with our pollies instead of just whingeing about them I cant see the sense in such postings because absolutely nothing is going to change regardless of who's up who and who's counting! to just sit and whinge is tottaly destructive
the only guarenteed outcome is to cause tension and animosity between members as is starting to become apparent here
I am very active with our local member, geoff brock, as well as the premiers office, how many of you not only know your local member (without looking it up) and how many have actively contacted your local member to improve your community, what was the outcome?
become proactive and be a productive member of the community that you reside instead of just sitting here grizzling about them,
I do on a regular basis, I work with our local coppers as well as council to get "things" done and I am glad to say we have gained many positive outcomes
proaction not inaction is the way to change the world we live in

If this topic has achieved anything, it has got us thinking. That in itself is proactive.
Find a dedicated independent to stand, and they can keep the b..stards honest, not bound by party policy.
No matter who is in government, state or federal, shouldn't the policies be in the best interest of the state or nation for a long time into the FUTURE?
Food for thought.

You tell me who is depressing you and I will get our newly formed "Anti Grump Team" on the job. We will not have anyone depress or upset you.
Ibbo is the leader of this team.
Seriously Brickies.........have you tried the alfoil beanie?? It has worked for a couple of others on here. Even DaveO now has something follow him around since he put put his fish filled alfoil on his head. It's only two or three cats, but it is a lot better than he had!!
We do sometimes get a little serious and involved about our own problems but from now on if they depress you.......let me know and things will be sorted.
You may even like to join the team yourself at some stage and inflict a little pain on the "Grumps"
So there you go Kiddies....................do like the man said.
