I can never express in words how high my love is for my darling wife (Ma), especially after the level of devotion she has shown to her MIL of under 2 years.
Plus her understanding of the level of commeraderie that exists in the life of an old veteran even after many years of separation from the Defence Forces.
Love you MA Guru

Well you 2 seem to have found your ideal mates and that makes for hapiness and joy. When I had the pleasure of meeting the pair of you in Qbn I thought to myself 'What a happy couple' in fact there was a pervading air of devotion and love.
Please spare a thought for the majority of us who don't meld so well with our partners....

You should see them in real life. They're still on their honeymoon. It's almost obscene.
Kind hearts and lots of fun will always make for a happy life, and Guru and Ma have buckets of both.
I'm still looking for mine, but they've set the goal very high. It's a great height to aspire to in a relationship.
That's love.

As a three time failure in the matrimonial stakes I can only express my unrelenting and unforgiving jealousy.
How dare you rub my nose in my shortcomings (no, that was not the reason for the failures!) !?
O-o-o-h-h but I'm envious.
At the same time as being most happy for you.

No Ducky, Guru doesn't have to toughen up, you have to soften up.
Show us your romantic side, and while you're at it you might need to show Daisy that side too.
Yeah, Basil, keep that bucket handy.
I reckon you blokes could take a leaf out of Guru's romantic book. He's a great example of the new age guy.

I completely understand where Ma and Guru are coming from. My beautiful girl and I have celebrated 41 years, hell I even married her a second time in 1999. Still love her more every day!!! The next 40 years are going to be great.

Hey Ma and Guru......How come you didn't teach Roger a few of those lovely sentiments when you were here? A few lessons for the old boy if you please Rob.... By the way....37 years, married him twice and still can't say he's house trained!! Awwww well, I'm too old to train another, so I think I'll keep him.

It may not be strictly your shortcomings Rolly. You may have chosen the wrong person, but it takes 2 to start and 2 to finish.
Don't take all the blame upon yourself. It's very noble, but not very healthy.
Only you know why you did it 3 times and why it failed 3 times. You must have got some of it right some of the time. Be kind to yourself.

What would I know! I do know when someone has a good thing going.
I've been in 2 long-term (more than 12mths) relationships in my life, and several false starts of less than 12 months. Married for 3 years, another partner for 9years. I've been on my own since 1982, concentrated on raising my girls, and I think I'm now a commitment phobe. Besides, I don't think anyone would put up with me now.
Better to be on my own that with the wrong bloke, and I'm too set in my ways to compromise for the wrong person for the wrong reasons.
Guru and Ma and good examples to follow, so maybe there's hope for me yet.

Onya Granny!! at least you still have an open mind. It is never too late!! All of a sudden........there he is......the knight in shining armour. Gleaming and shining........ because he just walked through the car wash ......and.......paid extra for the wax.!! He's your man Granny.......not afraid to spend a quid to make himself look good.
However....just remind him to get the anti-rust sprayed on or it could become embarrassing!!
One day ........you'll find someone Granny...............and then.....................and then........You won't have time for us anymore.......*sob*.

Now that's a real quwack up! I had visions on the old knight in very rusty armour emerging from the spray of the car wash in the rattley, but very shiny armour.
It's time like this I wish I could draw animations.
That cracked me up. You've missed your calling Ducky.
You should be writing comedy, and if you can draw maybe you could illustrate.
I laughed so much the tears ran down my legs. ha ha ha ha
