Caravan rear view cameras

Recently bought and fitted a wireless rear view camera from Jaycar (300$) .It has a large monitor which I fitted on the dashboar, the camera was fitted on the number plate of the van and is powered by the number plate light power.

it has a range of 80 meters and works well when reversing in a caravan park etc.

I had hoped to use it as a rear view mirror substitute when travelling.

it works but only intermittently while travelling, in fact I worked out whenever a car passes in one of the adjoining lanes (multi lane Rd) or a car passes in the Oncoming lane the camera  loses picture.

im assuming that the car (perhaps the spark plugs) interfere with the 2.4 MHz signal?

any radio techie have an idea for making an aerial say out of coils of copper wire that might improv the transmition?

Any ideas welcome, not critical as it works when needed the most (reversing) but would be nice to have it work when moving.

Cheers

I had similar 12\14 yrs ago.

Just extended arial wire from box under drvrs seat. to rear of Patrol. Mounted it on back end of roof bars beside tinny.
Never a prob after that.

Took camera to mate 3 vans away. Still clear piccy and no interferance with 3 engines in between running
To check it.
But it was 5.5v not 12v. Maybe makes a difference??.
