Looking to buy a caravan and travel Aust

We went to the Gold Coast caravan show looking at caravans but walked away a bit confused.  Felt pressured to buy on the spot with special one off deals.  I would like to research a bit and make a good decision.  Budget around $60-$75. And after sales service and reliability.

any suggestions on what to buy?  We are liking the Retreat Fraser, Sunseeker Seabreeze, Crusader and Jurgens but happy for comments or suggestions where you have had a good experience.  or suggest looking at other websites to help

Start with looking at various caravan grpup site for the brands you are interested in.

Then seek information from www.caravancouncil.com.au/rv-buyers download the buyer's checklist.

Then peruse sites with direct information on caravan manufacturer beware list at www.facebook.com/groups/lemoncaravansinaus/ see also www.facebook.com/groups/1059708534082431/permalink/1430244377028843/

Finally have van inspected prior to handing over ANY money

You then have all you should need to separate SH1T from Chaff

Welcome to the gang Heyu, enjoy here and out in the playground.

Most new vans have teething problems, some worse than others. Mine had many but being nice to the dealer etc git things fixed and they came to me to do the work.

I don't like to say what's good or bad in dens and tugs as everyone is different so just do your "research" and if what you like ticks all boxes well, go for it I spose. Just read through the forum about weights etc before you pick up your final choice.

Keep Safe on the roads and out there.

Are you staying on black tar or sometime on the dirt , I don't do dirt if I need to do dirt I leave my van somewhere and come back to , You may want to do dirt so you may have to look at an off road caravan .

G'day Heyu, and welcome to the forum. Don't forget to try the two ongoing games here - 'Who is This' in the 'I Digress' section and 'Pick this Place' in the 'General' Section - a great source to find new places to visit.  As the others have already stated there's lots of homework to be done and everyone's selection needs to be based on their own personal preferences.  Hope you find a great van that fits you well in the near future.

Pete and Marion

And it's welcome from us two 2 Heyu all good advice up there
We just got back from Coober pedal roxby and the flinders ranges and decided that the 5th wheeler really wasn't suited to some of the roads that we were wanting to go on so we have just bought a black series Dominator camper trailer to do the rougher off road stuff while we still can then we will do the long distance stuff in the 5th wheeler later , so have a really good think about where you want to go first of all then maybe upgrade to something more comfy later , just a thought for you to consider .
