Our 2017 trip to Exmouth towing our 6mtr boat PART 11

We / I love stopping over in Leinster, Its like following the ants to the food sauce. The town was built to accommodate the mining of Nickel and gold. You don't spend the kind of coin, unless the resource is there. A full air strip for the FIFO crews. Police paid for by BHP. After the end of the mining boom There was a major seismic activity which closed BHP's mine after 2012

The mine was put up for sale around 2014. Now BHP is sinking a new shaft and more companies are joining in the areas mineral wealth.In 2014 the town was put into a caretaker mode no. Most small retailers closed. News agent, Chemist, PO, Hair salon, Tax Agent and police. With only IGA holding the Fort.

The dry mess and tavern are run by Spotless Servicessmile. The logistics of moving all types of food and materials is massive.

So on we march towards Kalgoorlie, up and away early as we have to refuel in KG for the long trip across the Nullarbor. Our Tug is built for long haul towing, with all tankage full.

The trip to KG is again a dream run with little or no wind.

We make for Franger Range Station and settle for the night with a chicken Snizel salad and desert.

Another early start with the brain in over gear. Do we stop for the night at Ecula or push on to................????????????? Our experience on the forward journey was to say the lease not happy Jan.................... To be continued..........................
