Annya State Forest Picnic and Camp Ground

Gday...

15Km NW of Heywood ... 7.5Km NW of A1/C195 junction.

CAMPS 8 - VIC site 520 - GPS 38 01 07 S 141 34 58 E

CAMPS 9 - VIC SITE 510  - GPS 38 01 07 S 141 34 58 E

This is a very open, flat site with some trees but also plenty of open space to charge those solar panels.

Long-drop toilet, no water, no grey restrictions, fireplaces, picnic tables, Telstra internet/mobile, no time limit. Will fit any size rig.

Some photos for your interest.

Cheers - John

We've camped there a few times, lovely spot. Famous for its Leaches even in Summer. They're in plague proportions. Don't forget the salt!

Gday...

Yeah - ya right DD hmm When I took this photo down at the dam I found I had taken on a few unwanted hitchhikers

Otherwise, nothing anywhere around the camp area - far too dry.

In wet weather the camp gets full of the blood sucking pests, even on a dewy morning.

Gday...

I guess we all have different experiences hmm and maybe will all depend on a wide variety of climatic/weather conditions.

But in my two days there I never saw a single leech around the camp area, never encountered any when foraging in the bush for me firewood or trying to find an elusive koala that I had heard growling on the first night.

However, as I said, I stood for only about three minutes at the dam .. and they sent out the scouts and decided they loved me legs.

All three mornings there were very dewy - windows of the car were saturated with water and grass like we had had light rain.

As I said, cry it all depends on what one experiences.

cheers - John

PS - I finally found that koala

Even the locals in nearby Heywood warned us about the leeches when we picked up fuel & shopped at the IGA supermarket. It's still a lovely peaceful place to camp at though.
