Thanks folks, happy to report the stitches come out tomorrow (18th) and the quack seems more concerned about the nasties on my starbourd side. Took a few plugs to get tested.. Ill know more in 24.

Cheers again for care and concern

One on the starboard side is a bit nasty as well.. Quack will take a fair chunk out in front of my ear and near the jaw to rid me of it. While its not the galloping gangrene, it would get nasty if I let it go.

Thanks to all for your kind words and encouragement, while it hasnt been pleasant im sure im in good hands.

Wear sunblock folks. When I was in the air force we would wander around the tarmac in shorts and bare tops. RAAF didnt supply sunscreen or cooling vests in those days. A number of blokes I worked with have all had chunks taken away due to similar cancers as mine.

Not sure I like that word, "cancer"!

Be well.

Thanks Woody, yeah the "C" word does scare the hell out of you and makes you take stock of your own mortality..

Cheers

Hi P

I'm a bit late on this thread as I rarely read this Forum.

I have had several SCCs cut out over the last few years.   No problem if you get them early.

If you are in the hands of a Specialist I would expect that he has done or recommended a full body exam.  If they haven't, I would strongly suggest that you do have one.

Thanks Cupie,

Quack did a stem to stern and all ports inbetween first up. This Tuesday (30th) he chops out the starboard bumps and spots. Went to a mates funeral yesterday who had been fighting the big C for 2 years. Brings everything into focus for me.

Thanks folks, will let you know what happens.

Phil

Thanks John, and all of you. More than appreciated.

Currently: Have had Bowens lesions removed and will start Efudix treatment in a week. This should end the problems with my dial. Quack now wants me to front up every 3 months for a stem to stern. He found a SK on my fore arm and froze it now gone with new skin peeking through.

Thanks again folks, its been a scary few months.

Cheers
