Store bought Tomato Sauce

When I was a kiddie in Melbourne my Dad did the pater / fillial bonding thing and took me to the footie. I dont remember a thing about the footie but that first pie and sauce are etched into my psyche with along with the eternal celestial choir.  From then on my Dad would say "No point takin the young'un to the footie. I just buy him a pie and sauce and he wont know the difference"

Time rolls on and tastes get jaded but, there is a store bought tomato sauce that is capable of rekindling that blissful memory.  Apart from home made sauce it is the only one I even admit exists. It's called "All Gold" and comes from South Africa. I get mine from the local Coles at the International food section.  It isn't spicy or fancy but it is a simple rich and strong honest "dead horse" fit for the best home made pie or pasty.

Many years ago after drifing thru the "Wine & Cheese" nights, someone suggested a "Pie & Sauce" night. It was all washed down with beer. Great night apparently - according to SWMBO.
