RE: What would attract you to a caravan park if you were travelling with your fur friends?

Well, we are into our third week of owning Ibis Caravan Park in Kerang, the paddock has been slashed of rushes and is ready to be fenced off for an off leash area, meantime we have had a few guests stay with dogs and they have had the pleasure of running their dogs off leash on the full twenty acres. We have allocated two cabins as pet friendly, one with ensuite and one without but close to the ablutions block. Our own dogs are loving the park and we are really enjoying being busy doing something every day.
Look us up if you are passing through this way.

good read and great job with setting up the CP with a view to have pets onboard. We are contemplating taking our BC (see photo) around with up but are apprehensive about the restrictions it places on us and whether having Nellie tied up or restricted may have detrimental effects on her? We are thinking of travelling for maybe a year and although we have somewhere to board her we don't want to load anyone up with that responsibility. I just picture us rocking up to a free camp or a CP and having to stay near the van/motorhome (haven't made up our mind yet) because of the pooch?? I don't know whether this restrictive thinking is atypical or over reaction - any ideas?

I travelled with my two dogs and the pleasure of having them with me outweighed the things I missed out on, but, I was travellling by myself at the time so they were great travel companions.
I think it depends on the parks you stay at, some are very strict about never leaving your dog behind if you go out, but especially at this time of year, leaving a well behaved dog outside in a comfy travel kennel is fine, in my humble opinion.
I think it would depend on how Nellie would cope on being left if you drove away or walked away, you could test her out with a short trip before you make the decision to take her or not.
Good luck

I'd be more than happy to stay in your caravan park. The prices are excellent, unlike $59 per night in Kununurra for three people. ð³ð³ð³

Agree, when we first built our kennels word of mouth and tv ads were the only things that worked. Realize tv ads would not work for you as we had a regional audience. There used to be publication of pet friendly places do not know if it is still around might be worth looking into.

thanks Hoki for the news - we have a couple of months to consider options but may take Nellie on a few shorter trips first to see how she handles the travel and confined spaces.

We have now finished fencing off our doggy off leash area, close to two acres of space, very happy even with the cost blowout with fencing materials. Next plan is to put a board up and hang ball throwers and balls out there.
