I know that face. It's Colin Thiele who wrote a children's book, Storm Boy back in the 1960's.

You've got it BG over to you.

Thiele was born in Eudunda in South Australia to a Barossa German family. The young Colin only spoke German until he went to school in Julia Creek.[1] He was educated at several country schools including Kapunda High School before studying at the University of Adelaide, graduating in 1941. He later taught in high schools and colleges.[2] He became principal of Wattle Park Teachers College in 1965,[3] principal of Murray Park CAE in 1973, and director of the Wattle Park Teachers Centre until his retirement in 1980.

Following on from Sheba's comment I googled "An old Haggard weather beaten worse for wear Rocker in his sixties" not good so I replaced Rocker with Actor and then replaced Actor with singer Then I tried "An old Haggard weather beaten worse for wear Actor in his sixties in Bay Watch" I then tried "An old Haggard weather beaten worse for wear Beach bum sixties" still no good but it is amazing how often the Rolling Stones pop up with those searches. biggrin biggrin biggrin

No Sheba, not him. He was born in England in 1951 and is better known in England and USA than he is in Australia. I hear he is Driving Home for Christmas !!! He refers to this drive as The Road to Hell.

So the game doesn't drag on, I'll give you a vital clue tomorrow morning !!!

It would be Chris Rea Relax-n. All the clues I gave are the names of his well known songs. On the Beach; Driving Home for Christmas, Road to Hell.. Over to you.

Chris Rea
Singer-songwriter
Christopher Anton Rea is an English singer-songwriter and guitarist, recognisable for his distinctive, husky-gravel voice and slide guitar playing. The book Guinness Rockopedia described him as a "gravel-voiced guitar stalwart".

 Well done to you sandman55

Donald Malcolm Campbell, CBE was a British speed record breaker who broke eight absolute world speed records on water and on land in the 1950s and 1960s. He remains the only person to set both world land and water speed records in the same year, 1964

You've got it in one Relax-n over to you.

Gordon Maitland Chater AM (6 April 1922 12 December 1999) was a Gold Logie-award-winning English Australian comedian and actor.

Chater attended Cottesmore School as a child.[1] He attended Cambridge University to study medicine but did not finish his degree, instead taking part in many student revues.

Chater arrived in Australia following World War II. He first came to prominence in Australia as a stage and radio actor, and was a cast member of the 1963 Sydney season of Chekhov's The Cherry Orchard, the debut production by the Old Tote Theatre Company, the precursor to the Sydney Theatre Company.

Chater became a national TV star when he was cast with Carol Raye and Barry Creyton in the Australian satirical television series The Mavis Bramston Show,[2] for which he won the 1966 Gold Logie Award for Most Popular Personality on Australian Television. He cemented his popularity with the title role in the popular sitcom My Name's McGooley, What's Yours?,[2] playing the elderly live-in father of a young married couple, played by John Meillon and Judi Farr. He appeared in many other television comedy series. His fellow actors included Ray BarrettStewart Ginn and Charles "Bud" Tingwell, among others.

Thanks Sandy

As soon as I saw his face the words of the song "Could I have this dance for the rest of my life, I will change my name to something you like" came to me

I think that he may have become famous because of his name

Keeping with the singers, who is this man below, he was known as the Elvis of his country

You are correct, Sandy

Have fun with your concreting tomorrow

I shall put up another picture

Philippe Léo Sme t (15 June 1943 - 5 December 2017), better known by his stage name Johnny Hallyday was a French rock and roll and pop singer and actor, considered to be a legend in France and credited for having imported rock and roll there.

During a career spanning 57 years, he released 79 albums and sold more than 80 million records worldwide, mainly in the French-speaking world, making him one of the best-selling artists in France and in the world.
He won 5 diamond albums, 40 golden albums, 22 platinum albums and 10 Music Victories. He sang nearly 1,000 songs and performed 540 duets with 187 artists. Credited for his strong voice and his spectacular shows, he sometimes arrived by entering a stadium through the crowd and one time by jumping from a helicopter above the Stade de France, where he has performed 9 times. Among his 3,257 shows completed in 187 tours, the most memorable were at Bercy in 1993, at the Stade de France in 1998 (just after France's win in the Football World Cup) and at the Eiffel Tower in 2000, which are all regarded as record-breaking performances in term of ticket sales for a French artist. A million spectators gathered to see his performance at the Eiffel Tower, joined by 9 million more watching on TV.

Keeping with the singers for a bit longer, but closer to home

Who is the man below
