Darwin (NT)

Wow!! has it changed since the last time I was here (30years ago.) Same as Katherine (NT) with self cleaning toilets and piped music in the streets. Hard to believe where in the outback. I so hope, I'm not going to be disappointed when I see Kununurra (WA). All my dreams will be shattered. We got here yesterday waiting for my daugter to arrive Sat. Then on Monday we head off to Dundee Beach and Kakadu for a few days. Then back to Darwin. We tried 5 Caravan parks all chockers then we found Lee Point it would have to be one of the biggest Caravan Parks. I've have ever seen. Anyway wishing you all happy and safe travels......  Also another question anyone out there done the Gary Junction Track . We are heading to Broome then back Alice Springs and some suggested that would be a good way back.

From what I hear you need to be wary of the midges at Lee Point - nasty little things!!!!!

Thanks for that. I think you might be right. I did get a little itch the other night. Unfortunately it's like being camped in the middle of a highway. Also 40dollars a night for a powered but no water site is a little rich. Also we had to give them a $100 deposit and we didn't get anything for it. ... go figure.

Absolutes Jules47. We were there last year and they were rife.

Currently in the Oasis Caravan Park at Virginia. Rates are $31 p/n and they will give seniors a $2 pn discount ($29 pn) Nice and shady park with very friendly owners.

Like a lot of parks in Darwin it is full up and you need to book at least a week ahead if you wish to get in.

I saw somewhere that there was a farm who allowed campers with self
Sufficient rigs ?
