Mossman Tourist Office

confuse We arrived in Mossman North QLD today and to our great surprise there is no tourist information office so have now done the rounds of the caravan park gathering information from others in the park, almost as good a source of information as our forum.

Decided we would need to stay a bit longer so checked with the office to see if any discount for weekly booking and told yes one night free BUT we would have to book for another week on top of our current 4 day booking as we were already booked and cannot get free night by extending current booking.evileye

I think that would be a general rule with most parks. Like the groups you join that give a discount. If you extend your stay, you don't get a discount on the extension (unless the CP has just been taken over by new managers and they don't know the rules like one place we stayed! hehe)

We've extended our stay and got the bonus free 7th day at several places, and we'll go back to them too. I think they are a bit cheap not to give it to you.

Have travelled past the Rifle Creek free camp a couple of times certainly a popular free camp had I known you were there Ken would have called in, now on the way to Townsville maybe another time.

Where are you at "aussietraveller" - we have left Townsville to go inland - currently near Charters Towers - Macrossen Park - pretty wet, but nice spot, heaps of room.
