Caravanners Forum have a "members chat" section - maybe we could have something like that - but then again nobody on here is that strict when we meander all over the place occasionally, are they? Unlike some sites - this is one of the friendliest sites I access.
Though shouldn't this have been in the "general" section - not recommendations?

My limited knowledge is that chat rooms can be free and a fair bit of work or cost 3 times as much as the forum itself for a secure one and rarely get used.

There is a site called aboutmyage that does have a chat room. I'm a member and had totally forgotten about it till I read this thread, haven't been in for ages. I think its for over 50s.
