An oldie needing identification

A friend who recently purchased a large property found this old beauty wasting away and is trying very hard to identify it.
Unfortunately I am just far too young as to remember back that far..

Looks very similar to a 1926 Dodge with what my farther called a bud body, but Ive never seen a ute version only the bodies made by Holden Bros in St Peters Sydney had a ute version, but I could be way off.

Grizzly

I have no idea why, but the mind says "Rag top Tudor" - it does things that surprise me at times!! I do not trust it, but it does have a major say in what I do - its done for now

Thanks for that...I too have had a similar thought, but the back of the cab intrigues me. Almost appears as to be an after market appearance.
But atleast they now have something to research into. They'd love an avid restorer to approach them as it seams a shame for the old gal to sit there negelected.

Spotted a similar rig on the way to WA somewhere in the GAFA.

The back had been converted to a ute tray but it didn't start life as a ute it was a retro fit by some farmer who had a need

I see if I have some pic's as I usually take pics of old gear laying in the bush

Good day ,O G,I have the remains of a Willeys Knight and the dash is similar to the one in your photo. The cabin looks to have been a sedan at one stage, but someone probably needed a ute. You see lots of tourers that have been made into utes from that era. Thats how the modern ute evolved. Hope they save it from the crusher. cheers northey

I have a Photo of a Motorhome my grandfather built somewhere around 1950 on the chassis of a Willeys Knight. The original car used to have a Dickey Seat in the back that we kids used to love riding in. We used to call it "Grandma Ducks' car" 'cause that's what it looked like. He built the body from something like 3-ply believe it or not.  He and my grandmother did quite a lot of travelling in it.  I don't know where it ended up.
I still can't get the hang of putting Photos on Forum Sites, but I can e-mail it to anyone who would like to see it.
Cheers,
xina.
